|
|
How do I find out who created the Zodiac set? The design for Cancer is a picture of a lobster, not a crab. I would buy this set, but I can't use it if it is wrong. Is there any way for the designer to correct it? Other than that mistake, the designs are adorable!

I know that Cutiepie is working on this, but she also has her hands full right now with two new little ones. Is there anyone else out there that may have some input? Thanks.

.....I can help by re-drawing a crab and inserting it in the same framework instead of the lobster. This would then fit in the set. Then they could have whoever digitized the first set re-do the poor crabby? I dropped a line in this regard to two site 'admins' but I know it has been busy around here and I have not heard back... If not maybe someone else here at SICKs has better art skills than I do and can do the same thing. This crab/lobster thing seems to be a common snafu tho I am at a loss why...No lobster exists in any zodiac/astrology set lol.
let me know CutiePie is I can help.

| Of course there is always the possibility of some form of copyrite that protects the entire set from any 'modified' versions..... That just occurred to me too... |

OK, here's what I've learned: the original creator of the artwork has sent a new version of Cancer, this time correctly as a crab. Now, the digitizer who created the set is working on finishing up the revised design and it will then be uploaded to the set on the site. There will be an announcement here as soon as it is done (or rather as soon as I know it is done). _________________ -Forum Moderator-

Thank you SO MUCH! I can't wait to see the new design.
I'm at a loss too as to what the confusion is. As you said, there is no lobster mentioned in any astrology sort of stuff. It really gets me miffed, or am I just being 'crabby' about it?

Oops, here's another one... Bonnies Horoscopes
It has a lobster also. I don't mean to be a pest about these things, but I'm sure I'm not the only Cancer out there. I know other would care also. Besides, who wants to buy a set that is wrong? If you are using it to sell things with, then it won't sell to your customers. So I guess that, yes, I have ulterior motives, but I am also speaking for everyone.

I never thought of it before, but are you allowed to use these designs on products to sell? Not that I sell anything! I wish I COULD make some money doing something I like. |

You are actually buying a 'use' license (for lack of what is probably the correct term) when you buy a design from here or elsewhere. What that means is the design is not actually yours but the ability to 'use' it is. You cannot re-sell the design or even give it to someone else (even if it was a freebie) since it is not technically yours but anything you create with that design on it IS yours. You can keep that item, give it as a gift or even sell it! Way Cool huh?
I embroider a few 'for sale' items every now and then, denim jackets, t-shirts, scarves etc. just to make just enough money to buy more designs (no, there is no such thing as 'Digitized Designs Anonymous' but if there was my hubby would probably sign me up! lol). I do mostly 'gift' work... I embroider things for the clubs my kids are a part of at school (and some they are not) and for animal rescue groups, veterans etc. I did one Pet Rescue Ribbon design I won as a daily free PES in here on scarves and it was a HUGE hit! It was just my way to show gratitude for the efforts others make to make this ole world a better place....
But anyways...even if you set up a booth at a County Fair or sell a few things at a consignment shop like I do these designs are yours to 'use' as you wish... (just don't transfer the designs, they are usually protected by copywrite laws like books, mp3s etc).
So have fun and I hope you make a few bucks to boot!
