I'm sorry ...
...but I am a bit 'bothered' by the design in the new set 'Hands' where I am looking down the barrel of a snub-nose revolver...
I am not anti-gun (No I don't want to argue that personal opinion) it just 'feels' bad... It is not the fact it is a gun, far, very far from it... I just don't know what would anyone embroider that on?
It is just my opinion...I am not chastising the designer, or this site, it is just so very far afield from the last set that emphasized 'caring'...
I just thought you all might weigh in on it tho...

i have to agree with you here. it's not the fact that it's a gun, but that you're looking down the barrel of a gun, and the message that it would convey when put on something.

I happen to agree with you on this topic, but that was actually a requested design (along with the fist and the hand of cards) that sparked most of the rest of the set. I find it very disturbing, but all I can do about it is not use it myself, I guess. _________________ -Forum Moderator-

Living here in the New Orleans area where murder is almost an every day occurance, I don't think I could use it. I am not an anti gun person
I believe in our constitution, but looking down a barrel of a gun is alitte
over the top. |

why is somebody digitizing something like this as it just encourages young children to use guns or weapons and kill somebody. I live in the UK and at the momment nearly every day in London or big cities somebody is killed by weapons and it is usually children so stop digitizing designs with weapons for the greater good of the world |

Silver, thanks for starting this thread. I know I was taken aback by that design when I saw it, I thought maybe I was the only one. My Dad was a hunter & fisherman, I grew up with long guns, and I kept his police force revolver. I'm not anti-gun. But I sure am anti what people do WITH guns that was never meant to be done, and this design kind of bears that out. Perhaps if it's going on a police officer's shirt, it may be "appropriate". But I kind of feel that if this was a request, maybe it should have been digitized just for that person, and not put into the general sale of designs. I'd hate to see a bunch of school children with this on their t-shirts, promoting that thier problems can be solved with violence. Well, we 'flower children' are now grandmothers, and I guess we're still trying to get this message across: make love, not war!! I'm gently laughing at myself, thinking we could actually have won that one, and still combing flower petals out of my hair, singing "If you're going to San Francisco....." Ah, well, I don't like that image of that gun .
