Hello all,
I have trouble with my bobbin tread. It keeps showing up on the front of my work no matter what I do or try.
I have send my machine to the dealer to be cleaned but it didn't work either.
Does anyone have a suggestion what to do.
I have a Brother 3100 Galaxie Disney

Appreciate your answers,

Saskia

Wish I could tell you exactly what is going on and precisely how to fix it, but I don't know that machine at all. I assume that since it is a Brother machine, it is a drop-in bobbin, not one that is loaded into a shuttle first. However, I have a few suggestions on things you can try.

Can you adjust the tension on your machine at all? If you can, try loosening the top tension just a bit. That way, the top thread won't be tight enough to pull the bobbin thread up. Don't loosen it too far though, or you will have sloppy stitching.

Do you use actual bobbin thread? It should be a lighter weight thread than the top thread.

If you don't have bobbin thread, or if that isn't working, try using the same thread on the top and in the bobbin. That way, even if the bobbin thread is pulled up once in a while, it won't be so visible (since it will match).

I hope that these suggestions will help you. Let us know how you are progressing, ok? Smile

Thank you Cutie Pie for the answer. It is in deed a drop-in bobbin.
I tried to loosen the topthread but that didn't work. I also tightend the screw on the bobbin a bit and that worked but that way I got the design to shrink in the direction of the sewing. I think it is very subtle how to adjust the thread.
I keep trying.

Greetings Saskia

This may sound silly, but have you tried using a different bobbin. I have a Singer Futra CE-100, and I have noticed a difference in my stitches (whether it is regular sewing or embroidery work), if I use a metal bobbin vs a plastic bobbin. The weight is slightly different and causes the tension to be off some when I use a metal one. Singer suggests to use the bigger plastic ones. It could be something like that.

Hi I had a brother Disney embroidery only machine and mine used to do the same thing. I kept taking it back in and they would play with the tension and other things, finally they decided that it was a lemon and I had the choice to try another one or upgrade. I did the upgrade to a ULT 2004 and have never been more pleased. Good Luck
