Hi, just joined this site, looking forward to having fun here. I have a Janome 300E and Janome Digitizer Pro. My wonderful hubby bought it for me last fall and I have been having lots of fun with both. I have a wonderful dealer, Supertitch in North East, PA (name of the town, not the location, we are in northwestern PA. They offer classes free with the machine and software you purchase, and are always willing to answer questions or give any help they can. I have been a sewist since I was a kid, taught by my mother. I'm 59 now, and disabled, so I have lots of time to follow my passion. I'm learning quilting now, and combining it with my embroidery. The first few attempts are well, ok, they'll keep me warm. They won't end up on the cover of a sewing magazine, unless it's a how not to do this magazine. I gotta learn to follow directions and not go off on my own onto very thin ice. Oh well, it's fun. That's why they call it 'disability', lol. I love cats, and am digitizing lots of those from my own kitty pics. Some even come out pretty good. I play with the computer more than I sew, but that will change come winter, I'm sure. We live in the deep country, on 8 beautiful acres of wooded land, and I have deer peeking in my windows, flocks of wild turkeys at my bird feeders, and the usual collection of cardinals, jays, chickadees, finches, squirrels, chips, bunnies, etc. I'd love to hear from other embroiderers, or beaders (I do that too), fabric artists. I sometimes go to Joann Fabric just to touch all the material! pretty bad, right. Now I'm trying to do something with all the stash I have collected over the years. Thus the interest in quilting. Hoping to have fun and make friends in these forums (the plural is really "fora", but I guess I must be the only one left that had to take Latin as a language in high school). I have a quirky sense of humor, love to laugh, love to learn, read, make new friends. Thanks for reading this.
