i was just looking at Buzz -2 -sticches, it looks sooo easy. has anyone tried digitizing with this software? It is available on the Buzz Tools website and is under $300. PE Design is sooo expensive and confusing to use even with the free classes. I need something quick and easy.

I would try one of their free demos first. What may be easy for one person to learn on their own may be harder for you or visa~versa. (I always have the hardest time with what people tell me is simple and fly like a breeze through 'tough' software! lol)

I have heard a lot of talk bout Buzz Tools over the years but most of it from dealers who sell it... Those opinions are always rather 'weighted' tho. If there is not a lot of response in here try a Yahoo group that is for digitizing and/or for your type of embroidery machine. I will say when I looked at the 'demo' designs they show at Buzz Tools I am not incredibly impressed...

Check and see too if you can do lettering with their software without buying an 'add-on' ... That always come in handy. (Easiest if all you have to do is insert a TTF font)

These are links to Buzz Tools demos other than Buzz to Stitches but it should give you a good feel for the program type.

Also... It is anything but sophisticated but if you just want to try your hand at a basic digitizing program maybe look at Sophie Sew. It is a free digitizing program download. It has been around for a while, I don't know if the developer dropped the project as far as going commercial with it but it is still online...

The dealer you choose will be important too. You WILL need to ask questions. If they are not friendly and helpful now while they are looking for a sale I can guarantee they will be less than helpful after you buy... I learned that lesson myself. Whether you spend $300 or $1000 retailers should always treat your genuine concerns with respect and helpfulness....

I would be sure to ask about how compliant ANY program you may buy will be with your computer's operating system... especially if it will run with ease on Win Vista since Microsoft just announced Win XP is about to be discontinued. Shocked I have one program that if it crashes I must get into he computers registry and make changes...this is not a 'fun' thing to do~
