Hi again, I have a customizer 2000 reader /writer and a janome 9000 machine, The problem i am having is when i turn or rotate a design in easy edit then send to the scan card It sews out the way it was before i turned it. I was told that the jamome 9000 would always revert back to the oringinal setting of the design before it was turned. 1. Is this true 2. if so why is the customizer sold for the janome 9000 . 3. if this is true would it make any difference if i brought embird of buzztools ? I am in a delemia. as i thougt if i turned or rotated a design in easy edit it would stay there , I hope this does not sound to stupid a question to ask you . I am using a hoop it all to to my sewing and if i cannot turn the designs it make life rather difficult . Any help would be appriciated thanks yancy |

First off, I had the 10000, 10001 version update and the 11000 updates on my machine NOT the 9000
I am not sure why the box or your machine would revert to the original orientation of the design... If you did not save it to a file and then load to the card from that saved file then perhaps all of the machine code that Customizer puts in there is not being seen or cannot be interpreted by your machine or your box. Are you sending it right from Customizer without saving the file on your computer first?
If the design is rotated and saved before transfer and then sent from that saved file it has in fact become that re-oriented design...
Does that make sense?
Let me ask YOU a question. I know the 10000 uses a pcm-cia type card for designs... I assume that the cards for the 9000 are the same?? IF so then why don't you use a pcm-cia adapter, like they use for older laptops, and use compact flash memory cards (like older digital cameras use...be aware the older Janome machines cannot see a huge memory card!) instead of the box?
Don't go buy anything, first ask your dealer if your machine can even use or see a card like that such as the 10000 and newer machines can. Then find a local computer geek (hey, I can use that term I AM one and I live with a whole family of them!) and borrow the compact flash card and the adapter (they were not very expensive even new). If you do not have a laptop to use the adapter in then see if someone has an older compact flash card reader that will plug into a USB slot on your desktop computer.
You have to use Janome software to transfer files for the older machines, I don't know about the newest ones. (Older Vikings/Husqvarna machines were the only other ones that did it that way and used hidden proprietary files). One more reason I love my Baby Lock is that all I have to do is cut and paste files. Without the hidden file designs will NOT sew out properly. You can get sneaky and add them yourself if you know what it needs but it is a major hassle.
I will see what I can find out... in the meantime quiz your local Janome dealer and see what they have to say.
p.s. No other types of blank memory cards, sd, etc will work in an adapter with the Janome 10000 or 10001!)
