I ventured into heirloom sewing with a group of people. We made some dolls clothes and then a lovely camisole. I became interested and made a Christening Robe for a relative and then another for a friend. I really enjoyed these projects. The gown also had an underslip that went with it and as the mother was Irish, I embroidered a shamrock and cross onto it. These gowns were both similar, not over frilly as both babies were boys.

Lovely work! Thank you for sharing with us. I am working on something similar (called a First Blessing Dress) for my niece. I hope to be able to post some pics of it when it is finished.
